Aquariums - La Rochelle worth a detour?

I%26#39;ve read a lot about the La Rochelle aquarium. How big of a detour is it worth? Are there other aquariums you%26#39;ve been to that are as good or better (anywhere in France...)

Nausicaa in Boulogne is excellent.

My kids like visiting aquaria - they have been to what I consider one of the best: The Deep in Hull, UK.

They loved Nausicaa. I would have no problems returning.

I didn%26#39;t particularly like Boulogne but the aquarium was well run, easily maneuvered (sp?) and had lots of exhibits. The display culminates with the Sea-Lions, who are extremely funny. A great end to a wonderful visit.

If you%26#39;re in the general area anyway, I would say this aquarium is definitely worth a stopover, especially with children, maybe on a rainy day. Great shark tank. Best, most colourful fish are towards the end of the tour, so you might liked to spend a little less time over the first exhibits otherwise you%26#39;ll find yourself all %26#39;fished out%26#39; before you get to the exciting bits...why not combine with a visit to the charming port of La Rochelle?
