Louvre experts

Hello

I am going to Paris for 6 hours - will I have time to go to the Louvre?

I am worried about the queues and I have left it too late to pre order tickets

Is it viable to get a good tour in one hour?I know I wont do it justice - really would like to see the mona lisa in the flesh.

Believe it or not, the painting of the Mona Lisa is only slightly bigger than anything you can see on the internet (ok, just a slight exaggeration). I have been 3 times and have -never- been able to actually be directly in front of it - there has always been a crowd that refused to shuffle along mobbed in front of it. You might find it to be a let-down.

What else do you want to do in Paris? Might have to make some %26#39;priority%26#39; decisions... Are you between trains? If you%26#39;re flying and only have 6 hours between flights, I%26#39;d be a bit worried about it - you might have a couple of hours to actually walk around some.
