A lot of Paris in The Da Vinci Code?

Hi guys. I read the book but haven%26#39;t seen the movie yet. The dvd is out today and I%26#39;m just curious if you could see a lot of Paris in it. I know it starts out at the Louvre but if I remember the book the protagonists travel all over the place. Thanks!

Not much of Paris and much of it at night. The scenes in the Louvre were shot betwen 10.00pm and 6.00am over two weeks as that was the only time allowed due to the Louvre%26#39;s normal commitments.

The room in the Ritz was actually recreated in London with fittings supplied by The Ritz.

When it comes to scenes from Paris I was greatly dissapointed, actually if you read the book, skip the movie.

|||

Agreed. The book is much better, and I was highly disappointed at how little of Paris you actually see in the movie.

You see little of Paris but here are a few more movies on DVD that do have Paris in them...

The Devil Wears Prada

The Pink Panther, Steve Martin

As to DVC movie, it was technically impressive with some great pictures - BUT I was disappointed because it sticks to literally to the book, almost like a summary/abstract. The plot or idea has not been artistically dealt with at all - so it is a little dull, like going through a check-list.

This said: it is only a DVD - not very expensive, and with a bottle of redwine on a rainy Sunday afternoon - it%26#39;s pretty OK.

%26quot;Le fabuleux destin d%26#39;Amelie Poulain%26quot; is still THE Paris movie - IMO.

Hey, did anyone see %26quot;French Kiss%26quot; on cable last night?

|||

Absolutely agree about the movie Amelie - it is fantastic. I was eating breakfast in the cafe were Amelie worked last Friday!

A great way of seeing the Paris locations featured in the Da Vinci Code book is to go on a Classic Walks Da Vinci Code tour around Paris.

You see and learn lots more history and info other than things associated with the book, and it helps you work out which parts of the book are defintely untrue.
