Elyseecars, anyone?

I did a search (go me!) and found only one reference to the Elyseecar service (are you there Gomac?). My apartment rental agency (feels like home in Paris) has an agreement with them, which means that it looks like I can reserve transportation through them for the same price as the other shuttles mentioned here on TA. I was wondering if anyone has used them before, and if so, would you recommend?

I thank my living on the TA Paris forum for my decision to go for the transportation service. My husband and I always use public transport when we travel - we took the RER/Metro last time we were in Paris. But after reading everyone%26#39;s posts about taxis/shuttles, I realized that shlepping on the train at rush hour with 3 kids and luggage in tow does not sound like a good way to start my Paris vacation!

Email them at: reservation@elyseecars.com and put attention: Inès in the subject line. Tell her that you heard about them on Trip Advisor and see if they will cut you a deal. You never know.%26quot;

I copied this a few months ago from on of the posts of, I believe, Mascara. If I have the correct name, she has used them before and really likes them. I have never used them before, but plan to based on her posts.

I have always had our hotel set up transportation to/from airport, but this time we are renting an apt. Goodluck.

Elysee cars are excellent, I have used them before and they%26#39;re great.

We rented an apartment last September with Yetunde and used Elysées Cars. Very good service and right on time both on arrival and departure. Helpful drivers.

Excellent! Thanks everyone - I just completed my reservation. It always helps to get a positive non-biased recommendation.

I used them on 26 SEP 06 for p/u at CDG for a transfer to our apt in Montmartre. The driver met at as we came out of customs, and walked us directly to the car, which was parked just outside the exit doors. We were a little surprised that they used a multi-passenger van instead of the sedan we had reserved, but it obviously wasn%26#39;t a big deal, as it got us where we were going. But if this might be an issue, I would insist they arrive with a sedan.

Pick-up at our apt on 5 OCT 06 was about 30 minutes late. The driver called us at p/u time and told us he was running 15 minutes late, and then arrived 15 minutes after that.

Both drivers spoke English well. Both were very helpful with bags. The return driver had some difficulty getting out of the city, and truly seemed to be %26quot;following his nose%26quot; more than knowing the way. He made several turns that lead to one way traffic patterns that seemed to confuse him, caused him to grunt a lot, ponder which way to go at intersections, and ultimately took us on a bizarre cicuitous route down one side of the hill, up and over to the west, back down through the 9th, over and up past Gare du Nord before we finally headed out of the city. It was strange.

Ultimately, we arrived without any real incident on both transfers. On the trip back, they did pick us up in a sedan. I%26#39;m trying to write this as objectively as I can, as everything turned out fine, despite a few snags in the operation. I also believe that part of it has to do with the fact that we got the negotiated rate of 55€ each way through our apt booking company, instead of the regular 109€ fare. I imagine that that rate gets you a ride, but, as in our case, doesn%26#39;t guarantee the type of car, or that you%26#39;re going to have an experienced driver. But for a set fee, as opposed to the gamble of taking a taxi, we were perfectly comfortable, even with the snags.

I got the negotiated lower rate also. When the driver picked me up for the airport he was late because of traffic and construction. Paris can be really unpredictable traffic-wise. When I was picked up at the airport they had a sedan and when I was taken back it was a mini van. I didn%26#39;t mind the latter.

|||

There will be 5 of us plus luggage, so I hope that they send the van!

I may change our pick-up time though. I have them picking us up at 7:30 am for a 10:40 flight...do you think that%26#39;s pushing it?

We got the discounted rate through our apartment rental agency also, which is why I chose them.

|||

If I were you, I%26#39;d ask them to come at 7:00. There is a lot of construction going on in Paris (at least there was last week when I was there) so the drivers sometimes have to circumnavigate that and it causes delays. Even if you get to CDG early, that%26#39;s ok, because you%26#39;ll need the time.
