train from paris to Bordeaux on the 14th July 2007

Hi,

what is public transport likely to be like on a public holiday such as the 14th July . Is the timetable likely to be restricted and are the trains likely to be more expensive

thanks

Hi,

I was in Paris from July 2-15 2006. The metro was not more expensive on the holiday but very crowded. I am not 100% sure but I don%26#39;t think that the times were restricted. Make sure you hold onto your belongings on the metro.

on the 14th itself you will probably find the intercity trains fairly quiet, especially as it is a saturday and most people will be where they want to go already..............

I have to disagree with Wiz : many people take their holidays from 15 july to 15 august and since 14 july is off too, a large number will be going to their holiday destination (and the Atlantic coast is a popular one)

I hadn%26#39;t realised that the holidays started so early - I thought it was mainly August - so that certainly gives me something else to think about. the roads will probably be pretty crazy too!
