train from Paris Airport (CDG) to Nice

How convenient is it to take a train from CDG to Nice? If we take a flight, we end up with a 6 hour layover at CDG. Would it be adviseable and faster to take a train instead?

No.

I disagree with Francophool on this one.

There are a FEW direct trains from CDG to Nice, I think only one per day depaarting at around 11:30. The trip takes just about 6 hours. Otherwise there are direct trains from CDG to Lyon or marseille from which you could take a train to Nice. If the times work out that could be quicker and easier than going into Paris and taking a train from Gare de Lyon.

I%26#39;m a little puzzled about the six hour layover however. Air France has at least a half dozen flights from CDG to Nice daily and EasyJet a couple more. You might also want to look into flying from Orly if for some reason there are no convenient flights from CDG. But by the time you have transferred from CDG to Orly you would probably be just as well off taking the train from CDG even if you have to change in Lyon or Marseille.

Check train timetables at www.voyages-sncf.com. Use %26quot;Roissy%26quot; as your departure station, this being SNCF-speak for the CDG TGV station. Also check for flights at www.airfrance.fr and www.easyjet.com

But you *should* be able to make a through-booking from the USA to Nice without a 6 hour layover. In fact Delta flies direct from the US to Nice...
