buying makeup in Paris

I have been told that in the drug stores you can buy make-up made by the big names for very cheap prices. Trouble is the name of the brand is changed. Channel or Este have really different names on the products. Does anyone know what I should look for?

I think, you talk about %26quot;Chanel%26quot; and %26quot;Estee Lauder%26quot;? Why should these firms sell their products cheaper and with a different name???

From what I understand, Bourjois is made in the same factory as Chanel. I don%26#39;t know that the products are identical, but Chanel does make Bourjois. Bourjois can also be found in the USA at Sephora.

I was also told that L%26#39;oreal is also made by the Lancome folks but I%26#39;m not sure if that is true.

Due to a lost luggage problem I had to buy make-up for the first time in Paris last week. I was in a hurry so I went to Monoprox and grabbed what appeared to be similar to what I normally use. Turned out most of what I bought was by Loreal. I was satisfied with the quality of the products. At first it appeared to me that the prices were similar to what we pay in the U.S. However, I had not taken the exchange rate into account so the products were really more expensive.

Get some L%26#39;Oreal Elnett hairspray. It%26#39;s the BEST hairspray in the world and you can%26#39;t get it in the states. It%26#39;s an aerosol and it%26#39;s in a gold can...you can get it at any drug store.

Lancôme is in the l%26#39;oreal group...

Just as Louis Vuitton, Kenzo, Marc Jacobs, Donna Karen, Fendi, Dior, TAG Heuer, Zenith, Moët %26amp; Chandon, Dom Pérignon and many many more famous brands all are owned by a company called LVMH.

But this does not mean that you easily can compare the brands.

But mayby you are reffering to other names than the brand names?

I saw a bit where they compared Bourjois with Chanel (I believe it was chanel) and they were almost identical.

You can get Bourjois at Monoprix.

you betcha...and we%26#39;ll all be stocking up on Bourjois mascara next week! its so much cheaper at monoprix than here in the states!
