Mrs

My company (who%26#39;s paying) recommended the following as choices:

1. Hotel Royal Magda (next to Champs Elysees %26amp; Arc de Triomphe)... #2 tripadvisor popularity index, $140EU

2. Hotel Louvres Rivolit (next to Musee du Louvres)...#586 tripadvisor popularity index, $110EU

3. Hotel Muguet (next to Tour Eiffel)... rooms with views of the Eiffel tower, #22 tripadvisor popularity index, also recommended by a friend, $95EU

I%26#39;ll have 2 1/2 free days in Paris, staying at one of these hotels. I would love a room with a view, but also want to be close to things... I%26#39;m trying to decide between #1 or #3. I will be traveling solo and won%26#39;t know anyone else there. Thanks for your input!!

Of the three, the only one I%26#39;m familiar with is the

HÔTEL MUGUET (2-star) 11, rue Chevert, 75007, Metro: Ecole Militaire--

The Muguet is only a 2-star, but has recently been refurbished and probably should rate as a 3-star. Location in the relatively quiet 7eme arrondissement (largely residential, institutional %26amp; commercial) and will tend to be quiet in the evenings. It is close to the rue Cler market street %26#39;enclave%26#39; and there are a few good local restaurants in the immediate neighborhood. The hotel is within easy strolling / walking distance of the Eiffel Tower, with good Metro %26amp; bus connections to everywhere else in Paris. Some of the rooms on the upper floors have views of the Eiffel Tower ( #51 seems to be the %26#39;..prize..%26#39;).The hotel usually receives excellent-to-rave reviews from past guests, as well as the international travel press and has a loyal repeat-visit following....which sometimes makes it difficult to book. The hotel is owned and managed by Madame Catherine Peltier (an iron fist within a velvet glove) and things are done her way. I%26#39;m not sure if both are still around, but Madame Peltier%26#39;s two poodles are usually much in evidence (a black and a white--one bites, the other doesn%26#39;t...don%26#39;t take the chance)

Hi:

My colleague, who was also traveling solo for work, stayed at the Hotel Royal Madga in October and he liked it. It%26#39;s close to metro and his rate included internet access in the room (if that%26#39;s important to you). This guy is fairly picky so it must be nice if he didn%26#39;t have anything negative to say :-) Not sure about the view, though.

Good luck with your decision and enjoy your stay!
