Guys I really need your help, I need to return jeans I got

Can anyone help, I was in Paris last week and bought a pair of jeans from Iceberg.

On the back of the jeans the letters IB are spelt out using a variety of sequins, I wore the jeans for the 1st time at the weekend and half the sequins have fallen off, they look ridiculous now!

Is there anyone who canthelp me?

I cant speak french and when I call the shop the shop assistants claim they dont know what Im talking about and keep hanging up! What will I do??

Do you think that if I went to Belfast and bought a pair of jeans that turned out to be fawlty, the employees would tell me on the phone (provided I speak their language): %26quot;Sure, post it back to us, we%26#39;ll send you a new one to Paris by return. Of course, all mailing expenses are on us.%26quot; ? Mmmmhh... Frankly, nothing is going to happen if you don%26#39;t show up in person in Paris, and to be honest, it%26#39;s difficult to blame the store for that.

Did you purchase by credit card? You can dispute the charge in writing if that is the case. Procedure ( which must be carefully followed) should be spelled out on the back of your bill. I%26#39;m sure you don%26#39;t want them exchanged for another pair which may have the same problem and would be satistied if you don%26#39;t have to pay for those you have.

Lulutoo, Europe is much less exchange/refund friendly than the States. As for the credit card companies, they couldn%26#39;t care less.

The only chance you have is either to get back to the store or if you purchased it with AMEX, send it to them, they will reimburse the money. Otherwise disputing the charge seems almost impossible, you have signed (or typed in your pin) at the shop and you got merchandise in return, period.

Or, and I assume that is what you are implicitly asking for, you try to find a helpful parisian that is going to take care of it for you...

Sorry Bob, but yes actually if you bought something in Belfast that turned out to be faulty they would ask you to return them for a refund, I havent mentioned that Iceberg should cover my postage.

Do you know anyone who speaks french close to you, then maybe they can call sthe store and ask to take to the person in charge? Its best to do it as fast as possible. I would have done it for you if I spoke french.

Good luck!

Bob

She is from belfast I think she knows how things are in Europe. (excuse me if she is from another belfast then the one in northern Ireland)

Cheers njutning,

Ive just checked around my office and there a girl, who is off today, who speaks French. So hopefully I%26#39;ll get her to call tomorrow.

I%26#39;ll let you all know what happens.

Emma, I was addressing Lulutoo, who, being an expert on Fort Lauderdale, is likely to live in Florida, not Pauline.

Sorry bob! Im a bit like a hedgehog towards you because of the past, I will try to be better, its not my intention.

When we are at it, what are the laws concerning this in france?
