Le touquet restaurants

Hi, we are off to France for the weekend this week and are staying in Wimereaux but are planning the day in Le Touquet. We are looking for a recommendation for a %26quot;sensible%26quot; lunch where the food is more important than sampling the wines. Would be very grateful if someone can steer us in the right direction, sensible translates as not having our backsides kicked in an expensive eaterie. I know we can get a good platefull in Calais for about 15 Euros. Also if anyone knows a good restaurant in Wimereaux for the Sunday that too would be great, many thanks, I have much trust in this site and use it all the time when travelling.

Kirbsmeister,

You will find both drink and food more expensive than Calais. I would suggest you will be looking at an average of 17 Euros upwards for a decent meal. The rues are lined with restaurants, a good recommendation in that price range would be Nemo, right on the sea front, keep going down Rue St Jean until the end and you can%26#39;t miss it, it is right next to the Aqualud. The food is good and not too expensive and although not the right time of year you get to see the beach!

Have fun

In Wimereux, the Hotel du Centre has a very nice brasserie-restaurant. It%26#39;s on the main street, right in the town centre, with a glass canopy sticking out over the pavement. Can%26#39;t remember the prices.

Here%26#39;s a link

http://www.hotelducentre-wimereux.com/ and you can click on the British flag and then on %26quot;Restaurant%26quot; at the side.

I would suspect that the cheapest menu quoted (19E) might only be served at Mon-Fri lunch (usually the time for best-value menus). But I am sure you can choose a la carte individual dishes.

You might be wise to book for Sunday, especially if it%26#39;s lunchtime. It%26#39;s a popular day for eating out in France.

Have a great trip.
