Hope someone can help me out here :o)
We are hoping to spend a few days in Nice in June and have found a lovely apartment on Rue de France. Sadly, the apartment doesn%26#39;t have any parking and we will have a car with us.
Does anyone know of any parking facilites nearby? An idea of cost would be appreciated too. We probably won%26#39;t want to use the car while we are there, so a long stay facility would be best.
Thanks for any help you can give!

I%26#39;m sorry but a car is a complete liability if you are staying - Rue de France. there is hardly room for a car to drive down it, let alone %26quot;park%26quot;. There is not a simple affordable answer to parking. If there were it would be permanently blocked. There is minimal street parking and the ticketing is relentless.
There are 24 hour parking facilities in the very centre - beneath Nice Etoiles - which cost by the hour.
Your best bet may be to park at the airport - there is a whole range of parking facilities long term, all very convenient if you don%26#39;t need the car for a while (which in Nice you don%26#39;t) and take the bus into town - 4 euro.

A car in Nice is an expensive nuisance. Can you turn it in when you arrive and save some money?

That%26#39;s a really good idea Andrew, the airport. OK it was about three years ago but I left my car there for a week while I returned home before continuing my holiday down in France. Found it, it was summer 2003 and for 8 days it cost £42. Hope that helps.

Aa he is coming from the UK I presume he is driving down to NIce as many of us do and then driving home. For a family it works out the cheapest.

We are driving around Switzerland and Italy before we head home, so the car has to be with us. The stay on the Cote d%26#39;azur was to be our last %26quot;long%26quot; stay of the trip.
If we decide to go for this apartment, the airport sounds like a good plan. Thank you all so much for your help.

Parking Plaza Services is at 12 Avenue de Verdun which is not far from Rue de France : just a few minutes walk. It is basically a valet parking service consisting of a garage with attendants who will bring your car out when you need it. It is closed from 12 midnight to 7am.
It is not cheap (I think around 30 Euro per 24h) but very secure and they will wash and valet your car if you want. From memory there is a weekly rate. I used it when staying on rue de la Liberte in the summer and found the staff very helpful. If you value your car (mine was just new) the sense of security does make it worth it plus the knowledge that it is not going to get bashed in a public car park.
Also, as it is accessible so easily it does give you the option of doing a few trips: your space in the garage will be there when you get back as you just have to turn up at the garage door and hand over your key.

Hope this is of help.

Oops! Just tried both those internet addresses and nothing comes up. However, if you like try giving them a call if you are interested: the attendants all speak English. Certainly, it was in business when I picked up this business card in June!
