Paris In December - Anything Special and Crowds?

I am going to Paris from Dec. 7-14th. I have been briefly once before in the summer and wondered if there was anything special in Paris worth seeing since the holidays are coming up. Also how bad are the crowds, if any, this time of year? If the crowds aren%26#39;t bad, is it a good idea to forego the museum pass and just purchase tickets as I go?

Can%26#39;t help on the museum pass front but I am seeing quite a few tourists around and other Paris dwellers say the shops are getting crowded already in the pre-Christmas rush.

As far as special things to see goes well ... the lovely fairy lights on the Champs Elysées have been switched on and the Christmas window displays at Printemps and Galleries Lafayettes are up. I%26#39;m not sure when the temporary ice-rinks and Christmas markets (mostly selling tat in my humble opinion) start but over the last few days I%26#39;ve oticed lights going up and trees being put into position in various places so ..

(Actually as you can see, I didn%26#39;t have much of worth to say but I wanted to get you back on the front page !)

For Christmas Decorations, there is a list of illuminated streets posted on today%26#39;s www.parlerparis.com.

I was in Paris about the same time as you. I did not think the crowds were so bad. I only went to a few of the smaller museums and no lines.
