Simple. Take the TGV both ways from/to Gare de Lyon in Paris, about 3.5 hours. Book your tickets and check timetables at www.voyages-sncf.com. You can only book up to 90 days ahead of your travel date but should book as early as possible within that window to get the best fares. This page by MorganB will help with the somewhat tricky booking process: http://tinyurl.com/qpdef

I just did the same trip in Oct. I used Easy Jet. The flight was only about 45 mins. but there was some strike that delayed the take off. It seems like my ticket was only about 25 euros. I think it depends on when you buy it. I think the taxi fare to the airport was about 30 euros. It seems that it left from Orley? I think Geneva is a base for easy jet.
I stayed in Hotel De Angletere in Geneva. It was very nice if you like small hotels.

Yes, the easyJet option has to be considered, knowing that the TGV takes 4 hours. Paris to Orly is 9 euros by public transport, and Genève Cointrin is quite close to the city and linked by frequent trains.

Ok, let%26#39;s look at some facts...
1. Lowest cost by TGV 20€; lowest cost by EasyJet 40€ plus airport transfers, say 60€. Advantage TGV.
2. Time by TGV 3.5 hours (NOT 4 hours); time by EasyJet ~4 hours including airport transfers and check-in. (Flight time is over an hour, not 45 mins.) Advantage TGV.
3. Frequency? ~7 TGVs daily; 2-3 Easyjet flights daily. Advantage TGV.
4. On-time performance? Advantage TGV.
5. Weather delays? Advantage TGV.
6. Convenience? Advantage TGV.
7. Comfort? Advantage TGV.
8. Baggage limits? Advantage TGV.
By all means consider EasyJet — UK-based incidentally — and then tell me why you wouldn%26#39;t rather take the TGV?

I know the baggage restrictions are a pain, bt you still need a cab fro Geneve%26#39; gare...and unless you really have a lot of time, there are tons of flights by various carriers to Geneve.. I guess I am always in a hurry.

Thank you for the info are there any other airlines to llok into other than EasyJet between Paris and Geneva? Jaydee12

Air France and Swiss.
Not really a %26quot;ton%26quot; of other carriers.

Yes. You can look at Air France or Swiss, both of whom fly from CDG (NOT ORY) to GVA, yet another reason for taking the TGV in my opinion. As for fares, I won%26#39;t even type the one way fare from CDG to GVA with either of these airlines as I suspect the post would be deleted for obscenity. Sufficient to say that it is MORE than 25 times the cheapest TGV fare!!! (No, I am not kidding.) I think you could book RT fares with either airline for around 100€ which is still a lot more than the lowest RT TGV fare. if you are travelling one way you *could* buy a RT ticket and discard the return coupon but you run a *slight* risk that the airline will charge your credit card with the difference. I%26#39;ve never heard of that actually happening, but European airlines *have* threatened to do just this.
The only reason I could think of for flying would be if you could get a lower fare with EasyJet than the lowest available TGV fare, an uinlikely eventuality.
As for the %26quot;I guess I am always in a hurry%26quot; comment — I think this is a classic case of %26quot;More haste; less speed.%26quot;

PS: The web site for Swiss Air *might* be www.swiss.com, not the URL I gave you. Not sure which one is correct...
