Corsica and sardinia

Hello, I have a week in February and would much appreciate some advise. I love history, architecture and good food and would like to go where the weather is warmer than London. Would a 2 center holiday in Corsica and Sardinia fit the bill? Any suggestion would be welcomed with open arms. I am getting totally bogged down and i want to get it right as I have not had a week to my self for years. I am traveling with another like minded woman ( we like the odd glass of wine too ) Thank you in advance for your help

Tourism doesn%26#39;t get going in Corsica until around April, but there%26#39;s no reason why you shouldn%26#39;t do your own thing for a week.

I think you%26#39;d enjoy the north. In Cap Corse there are some magnificent houses called %26quot;American style%26quot; houses that were built in the late nineteenth century by Corsicans who made their millions in Puerto Rico%26#39;s coffee industry. And you%26#39;ll be near enough to Patrimonio to take a tour of the vineyards there. You will also want to take a trip to Corte in the mountainous midddle of Corsica, Pascal Paoli%26#39;s capital city. Aleria, on the east coast, with its Roman Fort and wine industry is also a must.

I think you%26#39;d enjoy staying either in Bastia (big, bustling, commercial) or if you enjoy walking, maybe stay in one of the villages of Cap Corse (Sisco, Erbalunga perhaps). Do let us know how you get on! I%26#39;m afraid I can%26#39;t offer much help on the Sardinian leg of your trip.

Well much though I love Corsica and quite like Sardinia, I think you%26#39;d be better off going further South, especially if you%26#39;re after warmth.

Yes the two islands will be warmer than London, but you%26#39;re looking at temperatures of around 15C with possibilities of worse weather (rain, snow in the mountains).

You%26#39;ll find Naples and the Amalfi coast warmer (and in truth with far more history). Better yet Cyprus or Crete will have even higher temperatures. Egypt is even further but you may feel it has security implications and travelling as two women might have other issues if you%26#39;re making it up as you go along.

The place that sprung to my mind was Sicily, lots of history, architecture, warmer than Corsica no doubt, and good Italian food. We went the first week in April and it was about 21 - 22 degrees. Taormina would be the best choice in February. If you are looking for sunbathing weather it would have to be Egypt or Morocco I think. Hope you find something you like.
