Paris Pied-a-terre

Could anyone who knows anything about Paris-pied-a-terre let me know. They are owned by Walid and Charla Walabi. Just need to know if they are reputable.

There is one review of an apartment rented from that agency on Slow Travel , which mentions the man by name and says he is both an agent and owner of some apartments. The review is favorable and mentions his cooperation as well as a handyman who works for him- here%26#39;s a link directly to it. Haven%26#39;t dealt with them - but I appreciate your desire to check on them- I%26#39;d be wary in the same circumstance:

LuLu,

Thank you so much for the link. It certainly makes us feel better to see the review. The owner has been very nice and answers all e-mail to us. Also, I looked on a VRBO owners page and the owners are on some VRBO board. They appear to be ok. We are going to go ahead and rent the apartment and hope evereything is as ok as it appears to be. As i have said, the apartment is very, very, nice and we want our children to be comfortable. My husband is 6%26#39;4 and my son is 6%26#39;6 so we need some space which it appears we will have.

Again thanks

Did you end up renting an apartment from Paris-pied-a-terre? We are travelling to Paris in January 07 and like the look of the Passy apartment as it should fit the 4 of us (includes two children). I was a bit concerned to see that payment is required to a Swiss bank account! I%26#39;d be grateful to hear about your experience. Thanks Suellen

Yes, we did rent from PAris Pied a Terre and all went well. The Passy apartment is nice and comfortable. There are nice shops nearby as well as the PAssy metro. The only problem we had was with the toilet. The toilet is in the hall by itself. It is a very tight fit if you are tall and need to go. My husband is 6%26#39;4%26#39;%26#39; so he had to crack the door and tell the kids not to go down the hall until he was finished. It was kind of funny to be honest. He destroyed our deposit check for us ( you write the deposit out of your checking account). Also, he ended up letting us use pay pal to send the money by credit card because we live in small town Texas and could not find a local bank to wire euros they would only wire usd. Our only complaint, a small one, was that Sam, their apartment manager made some appointments to come and meet us to check in and out but was always busy getting other apartments ready. This was our first time to rent so we were a little nervous. However, we are pretty resourceful and have been to Paris before so we were ok. He just missed out on the tip we would have left him. HA HA!!!!

I would definitely rent from them again. Even if he didn%26#39;t come and meet us he and Walid always answered the phone and any question we had. We would probably rent in the 7th nearer the Eiffel Tower as that is our favorite area. However you will get along quite nicely in Passy. Also, there is a Monoprix around the corner for groceries so you don%26#39;t need to go to the Passy market which is quite further up the road. Monoprix is closed on Sundays though.
