Hi
We were in Paris a few years ago and had breakfast every morning in this great coffee/ pastry/ sandwich restaurant on a main strreet not far from The Tulerie Gardens, an inexpensive department store and with in walking distance of the marais area. I believe this restaurant is part of a chain. The self serve restaurant ran a breakfast special which included 2 croissants or pastries, yogurt, coffee and maybe juice too. It was a really good buy. If any can knows the name the place and the name of the street it is on, I%26#39;d be grateful.
Thanks,
Beth

Breakfast in a self serve restaurant? How depressing! As for an %26quot;inexpensive department store not far from the Tu[ileries] and within walking distance of the Marais%26quot;, it%26#39;s the kind of surreal Paris %26quot;geography%26quot; you only find in the Da Vinci code!
Don%26#39; sweat it, go to any café in the morning, you might pay 1 or 2 euros more for your breakfast, but it%26#39;ll be something else than eating in a cafeteria.

This sounds like La Brioche Doree, they are a chain of pattiserie/baleries that serve the Formula breakfast. Last time I was in Paris I ate at the one on Boulevard Montmartre, which served a formula breakfast of 2 pastries, a fruit juice and any hot drink for 3.50 Euro%26#39;s, but they are dotted all over Paris and I think they have different formulas depending on their location. The pastries were very good.

I posted my %26#39;research%26#39; on your other post.
