Hotel in Paris with space to work, inexpensive

We will be in Paris at the end of January/early Feb for 9 days and need to find a hotel where there is enough space in our room to work at a laptop for part of each day. And if there is a chance for a table with space for 2 people, that would be ideal, although we don%26#39;t have high expectations to find that, given our budget. We would like to find a place that is under 100 Euros, although we might be able to manage up to 110, especially if breakfast was included. WiFi or ASDL is a must. And of course, we%26#39;d like it to be charming :-). Preferred areas are 5th, 6th, 7th. 13th or 14th also a possibility, as we will have some business in the 14th for part of the time. Would also consider the Marais, but don%26#39;t really know that area very well. We are a couple, so need a room for 2, but if a triple would provide a bit more space for us to navigate in (and if we can afford it), that might be a possibility.

Any suggestions or ideas?

Thanks in advance for your tips!

Your budget seems a bit on the low side for the amenities you require. I don%26#39;t have a specific hotel to recommend, but will recommend a site that you can check: www.eurocheapo.com

Hi,

I don%26#39;t know, if you have ever been to Paris before. Most US-americans complain, that hotelrooms in Paris are very small and even smaller in cheaper hotels (less than 100 Euro ...).

Maybe you better look for an apartment, it is more likely you find an apartment for under 100 euro/day with some space...

Here is a list of hotels with varying types of internet access - you can scan the list and look at only the ones with in-room access of the type you need.

I don%26#39;t think a table with 2 chairs is very common espec. in budget hotels. More likely to be a small desk w/ one chair. You can see the room photos on each hotel listing. If you find a few %26#39;candidates%26#39;, then use Google to locate their actual websites as you may get a better idea from additional photos. Even, then you may need to contact the hotel directly and ask them if they can provide a room with the internet access and table/2 chairs that you need.

Thanks for the links to inexpensive websites, and to the one that lets you search by amenities, such as internet. That one is especially helpful.

We have been to Paris before, but not on vacation, so our needs are a little different this time.

I have spent several days reviewing lots of different hotel websites, reviews of them, and looking at their location on maps. But it is so hard to tell from a distance what these places are like, that I realized it would be great to talk to people who have also had to travel and work in Paris, on a fairly low budget.

So if you have found a great, inexpensive place hotel to stay where there has also been enough space to get some work done in your room, I would love to hear about it.

I think we will also investigate apartments, as that would certainly provide more space.

An apartment will better suit your needs. 100 euros might be just a bit on the low side for what you want, and you might need to increase your budget to 110-120 euros.

This apartment, that I stayed in recently, has a decent sized table and WiFi, and works out at about 100 Euros a night over 9 days. The only problem is that it is booked for the night of 5 February onwards, so your dates might not suit. I recommend it as it was well equipped and comfortable, close to the Seine near Notre Dame and very close to good food and wine shops in Place Maubert and a Franprix supermarket and a couple of other similar ones in rue Lagrange close to Place Maubert.

Agree that for nine days and your desire to work and use the Internet, an apartment would be much better than a hotel. You could easily up your budget for something nicer and save by cutting back on meals in restaurants. It%26#39;s no hardship to indulge in great market fair to enjoy %26quot;chez vous.%26quot; Even if you don%26#39;t cook, there are wonderful ready-to-eat foods. I have always rented larger apartments from perfectlyparis.com, but proprietor, Gail Boisclair has several smaller rentals as low as 750 euros/week. We have been pleased every time with our experiences dealing with her and witht the apartments themselves.

vacationinparis.com has very reasonable apartments for your price range. There are even a few for $99 (note: $). We have rented from this website before...based in the US, and they send you the key via the mail so you have it before you go. Last time we rented Maria%26#39;s Marais. This time we have a larger group going and opted to try #50 Art Deco $115 /nt. (has separate bedroom...that way you don%26#39;t have to put bed up/down daily, table, sleeping for 6, microwave and fridge if you desire to purchase items from local shops/leftovers). They have a map link at the bottom of the individual apartment descriptions that might also be helpful to see general whereabouts. Make sure when booking that you check with them to ask about your laptop capabilities. Remember, if that fails, there%26#39;s always the internet cafe%26#39; down the street ! Enjoy your travels!

Hi -check out http://www.stayparis.com/index.php - they have some apartments available at that time for about 75 euros per night.

I stayed in one of their %26quot;75ers%26quot; in October - they were very clean, enough space for 2 and have phone and internet connections, etc.

We stayed in rue d%26#39;aboukir - a great location .
