we are traveling with my brother in law and he is a Flea Market buff. We are hoping to find some outdoor markets so he doesn%26#39;t go through withdrawels. We will be near Montpellier in May.

Markets in the Languedoc area are pretty thick on the ground. Check out this site listing them by town and day. Should keep him occupied. You will probably need a car to get to some of the smaller places.

Thank you very much for the Market Page, any other hints of what might be of special interest. We will also have our 4 year old grandson with us. We are thinking of doing the Anduze Steam Train. Do you know if it is an all day trip?

Maybe also look at the Little Yellow Train of Cerdagne into the Pyrenees Mountains (130km return trip). This popular scenic railway takes visitors into the Pyrenees Mountains through many tunnels and bridges and finishes at the beautiful and historic village of La Tour de Carol. This area is also is also famous as the supposed hiding place of the ‘Holy Grail’.

Get yourself to Viilefrance de Conflent (66500) direction Perpignan.
In Montpellier itself try the Petit Train de Montpellier to get around the sites. Designed to appeal to the kids. petit-train-de-montpellier.com/Index_us.asp
I was going to also suggest Aqualand at Cap d%26#39;Agde (close to Montpellier) is one of Europes largest water parks, but it doesnt open til June. Maybe next time.

Hope this helps.

Hi
The Cevennes steam railway runs in May, contact details here : www.trainavapeur.com/enfamille.php?lang=en
It runs Anduze to St Jean du Gard with a stop at The Bambouserie ( www.bambouseraie.com/rubrique.php3… ).
Frequency of trains varies, but a half day trip is usually possible.
There are lots of local tourist links here : the-languedoc-page.com/links/languedoc-links…
