day trip to Reims with bubbly

I will be in Paris and want to take a day trip to Reims. Several tour companies have day trips. I can also do it myself via the train. I will want to visit a %26quot;champagne house%26quot;. Is this feasable? How far from the center of Reims? Will I have to take a cab? Which house would be closest and how do I pre book? I need this info before deciding on do it yourself or a Cityrama or Paris Vision Tour. Thanks.
