I couldn%26#39;t resist this one. Last March in Paris we were on our way to the Musee Carnavalet and stopped in a busy shoe store along R. de Sevigne. I saw and bought a darling pair of black kidskin ballet shoes by repetto, Paris, with 2 feet of satin ribbon to wrap them on with. The clerk tried to sell me cloth bags for them as they are %26quot;so fragile, they will scuff each other if put together.%26quot; I declined and got them home. Arche shoes they are not. Every time I put them on, my husband says, your feet will kill you within an hour. So I reluctantly put them away, again. They seem so fragile and have no arch, any support etc. Finally, yesterday I tied them together, the ribbons into a long bow, and hung them on the wall. At least this way I can admire them and think of Paris, without killing my feet.

Hi Gomac! Thank you for your little anecdote. I%26#39;m sure those shoes make a lovely wall decoration. Your story reminds me that about 6 weeks ago I bought myself a pair of toe shoes so that I could attempt to do some pointe work like the teenage girls in my ballet class. I was so envious of them , but I had no idea if I would even be able to stand on my toes like I did 40 years ago. No matter what.... I just had to give it a try. I told myself that the worst thing that could happen would be that I wasted about $50, or if I wanted, I could hang them up because they%26#39;re very pretty to look at. Well, I actually surprised myself when I found out that I%26#39;m still capable of doing a some things on pointe, though at this stage I%26#39;m limiting myself to barre exercises. I love the challenge, but I have to be cautious at my age.

I certainly wish your feet well. In other posts you have noted you are retired. I can%26#39;t imagine what %26#39;toe%26#39;shoes would do to my feet. Hopefully, you aren%26#39;t going walking in Paris anytime soon. Have a good one.
