Hi all,
I%26#39;m planning a trip to Paris around Mid March 2007. I saw that the L-Hop On Hop Off tour is pretty good deal. There are like 4 types of tours each covering various popular attractions in Paris and the pass fee is around $40 for 2 days. I%26#39;m planning to take this. Could any please advise which attractions I must not miss in this tour (needless to say Eiffel Tower). Link to the tour page: …viator.com/brochure/product_show.jsp…
Also, does the Paris Gare De Lyon train station have luggage storage facility? I%26#39;m planning to visit paris and other european countries and come back to paris. If there is a left luggage service, what%26#39;s the charge or is there any website that can help me with this?
Thanks in advance,
Zinch

I believe there are no luggage storage facilities at any station anymore due to bomb fears. I don%26#39;t have an alternative but maybe a local can jump n here.
The L%26#39;Open Tours are still the best way to see everything (as long as you sit upstairs). If you stay on the bus (and jump off to change routes) you will actually %26#39;see%26#39; just about everything. It%26#39;s up to you to decide what is and is not to be missed.
Play it by ear when you are on the bus - there%26#39;s no set rules - when you see something you want to see more of - get off. What you skip the first day, you can do the second.

There are indeed baggage storage facilities at *most* Paris mainline stations including Gare de Lyon. There are lockers of differing sizes and *possibly* also an attended left luggage facility. Unfortunately it has been established that the information on the SNCF (French rail) site as to what exactly is available at which station is not totally accurate. Nonetheless I am about 99% certain that there are *at a minimum* lockers. However, the maximum storage period for the lockers is 72 hours, and the rate, if the SNCF site is to be believed between 4€70 and 9€50 depending on the locker size and length of deposit. I have been intending to post a new topic trying to get accurate info from locals as to what is available at which station. I will *try* to make time to do this tonight.
Note that all left luggage facilities *may* be closed without notice in the event of a security alert.
You may not save much money, but there is no need to buy your L%26#39;Open Bus tickets before you leave home. You can simply buy them when you board the bus — 25€ for a one day pass, 28€ for the two day version, IIRC. That way if the weather stinks you can do something else instead — like use the métro to get from place to place.

Hi
My wife and I went to Paris in April this year and it is a great city. I have made a Google map which includes indications of the most popular attractions of Paris. You can find the map on http://gardkarlsen.com/paris_france_map.htm . Remember that you can zoom in and out, move the map around and switch from map to satelite picture.
Try it out and get in touch if you have any questions :-)
Regards
Gard
