1st time to Paris - please help!

We are planning our first trip to France and I have found 3 apartments that look wonderful. The locations are in the 3rd and 4th; rue d%26quot;Ormesson, rue Simon le Franc and rue du Temple. The first 2 seem to be within a short walk to several of the things we would like to see. The third looks like it is farther but may be have more markets, restaurants etc. and may be not as busy. I%26#39;d love to hear from someone who could give me some input regarding these 3 neighborhoods. This trip is being planned for May so I%26#39;m wondering if we should book a apartment that has air conditioning.

One last questions regarding Holidays in France (I%26#39;m assuming buses and trains run and restaurants would be open but shops and stores could be closed) - is this correct? Thank you for your help.

Any of those locations would be nice. They%26#39;re all in busy areas, but the first two are on very small streets that won%26#39;t have much traffic. Rue du Temple is a long street and you haven%26#39;t indicated an address, so it%26#39;s hard to know exactly what to say about that choice. There are lots of restaurants and shops within a short walk of all three streets.

Air conditioning in May will be completely unnecessary.

Your holiday question really depends on the Holiday. The May holidays are not overwhelmingly important, so you%26#39;ll find most restaurants and larger shops open, as well as nearly all the major tourist sites.

Rue d%26#39;Ormesson is a fabulous location.

It backs onto one of my favorite places in Paris - the Place du Marche St Catherine - a little treed square with several small restaurants. It%26#39;s also about 3 minutes away from Place des Vosges.

In the other direction, you are only 3 mins away from Rue de Rivoli/Rue St Antoine/St Paul Metro and all the patisseries, cheese shops, supermarkets, butchers, florists and cafes you will ever need.

I have never needed AC in Paris, but I%26#39;ve never been in July/August - I don%26#39;t think you%26#39;d have any need for it in May.

Not to mention the MANY mouthwatering Chinese traiteurs (delicatessen take-aways) on the south side of Rue St. Antoine and Rue de Rivoli (same side as the St.Paul church). I can never get enough of just staring from the outside, at all that beautifully arranged food, all the colours, the different vegetables, shrimps, tiny spring rolls, etc etc.
