Hi, June — and welcome!
In the best of all possible worlds you would probably want to begin your trip in Italy and end it in London or v.v., but if you have already booked your trans-Atlantic flights it is really not a big problem.
It will take you about 2-2.5 hours to get from Paris to Beaune by train. Unless you have a particular reason for wanting to visit Venice before Milan your best bet would probably be to travel onward to Milan by train. This will take about 7 hours and require two changes of train at a minimum. If you can find a good routing via Dijon and Lausanne you should take it rather then the other likeliest routing via Lyon and Chambéry. The scenery is spectacular on the first route. (An overnight stop in e.g. Montreux or Martigny would not be a complete waste of time.) The alternative would be to return to Paris and take a budget airline flight to Venice with MyAir www.myair.com. If you go to Milan first I don%26#39;t think returning to Paris to fly to Milan would save enough time to be worthwhile, and it would probably cost more.
From Milan travel to Venice by train, about 3 hours.
Finally fly to London LGW from Venice with EasyJet www.easyjet.com
The best place to look at timetables and routings and find out about intermediate stations on the various train routings is (surprisingly enough) the German rail site www.bahn.de
I have a hard time believing that any railpass would be less expensive than advance purchase point-to-point tickets. You will not be able to find fares or book tickets on the Deutsche Bahn site. You will need to go to www,voyages-sncf.com and www.trenitalia.it possibly also www.sbb.ch for your train fares and online bookings. You can only book French rail tix up to 90 days ahead, and I think only 60 days ahead for Italian rail tix. A careful reading of this page by MorganB will help you figure out the process: http://tinyurl.com/qpdef
Hope all this helps. If any of it is unclear give another holler.
