Christmas Shopping in Paris

Hi All - Traveling to Paris for the first time ever for the week before Christmas. I would like to shop for some family and get items you can only get in Paris.

Does anyone have any items they can only get in Paris that they would recommend?

(Keeping in mind a somewhat modest budget - I know you can spend lots and lots of money of needed). :) Merci

suzanne you have to know you cant keep the macarons during weeks! they are good only during few days (this is from laduree not me). so a week later they might not be that good. one of my favourite presents shop is called la chaise longue, there are several in paris, they%26#39;ve got lots of cheap and nice little gifts, for the home, jewels, etc etc. its very colored, they%26#39;ve got really nice things, some retro style stuffs to hang out home, funny ashtrays, funny boxes or things for the kitchen etc. otherwise the christmas shop at galeries lafayette got plenty of ncie things, at printemps also. you could bring for ex some french brands of jewels, decorations, clothes etc.

My American friends love to shop at Pylones (pylones.fr), they have several outlets throughout the city. Otherwise, just browse along rue des Francs Bourgeois, and you should find some fun, chic, typically French items.

Alex,

I thought the same thing. We met someone in Paris who swears she keeps the macaroons in the freezer and that they are fine.

Well, we shall see.
