We%26#39;ll be in Paris for 5 nites - mid March. We%26#39;re having trouble finding a 2 bedroom apt that%26#39;s roomy - at least 500 sq ft - and in a good location. One interested us in the 5th - on rue l%26#39;Homond near rue Mouffetards but it sounds like the area may be student oriented? We%26#39;re mid 50%26#39;s and will be travelling with our 22 yr old dght. We%26#39;re looking for moderately priced restaurants and interesting shops in the area so that we can stay in the neighborhood after a long day of sight-seeing. What do you think about the rue l%26#39;Homond location? Any other ideas?

In October we stayed on rue Vavin in the 6th in a lovely 2 br through vacationinparis.com. It is called Luxembourg Splendor. I think it was $150 per night. In that ballpark anyway. Pretty reasonable. Very clean and roomy. Recommend the apt and the company highly. And btw, the security deposit on all their apts is a flat $300.

Hi,
you didn%26#39;t tell about your budget, so I just can guess:
parisaddress.com/paris-apartment-rental/…
It is 1.150 per week and has two bedrooms (one double / one single), livingroom an dining room! Very cosy, a lot of space and close to a metrostation. The 6th Arr. is a very nice area, has a lot of cafés and restaurants and it is as central as the 5th.
I%26#39;ve booked with that agency for my next trip too. Other people recommend them in this forum too.

The apartment my husband and I and another couple rented in September could be ideal for you: La Belle Epoque from www.perfectlyparis.com is 785 square feet, has 2 bedrroms, each with an ensuite bathroom, plus there is a 3rd toilet off the hall by the kitchen. There is a comfortable salon in addition to a dining room, so lots of both communal and private space. It is on the first floor - so just one flight up, and the location in the 9th is very convenient. You are within easy walking distance to numerous lovely neighborhood restaurants and the great rue des Martyrs market street, plus a large supermarket, several bakeries and a even a natural foods store. You can read about all the other many amenities at the Website as well as consider other apartments from this personal-service agency. We have also rented Villa des Platanes in the heart of Montmartre, but that one is often rented out way, way in advance. We also stayed in Prestigious Junot, which could do for you in a pinch, but only has one bedroom and a sofabed in the living room and not the most convenient bathing room/toilet layout for more than a couple. If you are looking for space, convenience, charm and comfort at a reasonable rate, I think you would enjoy La Belle Epoque. Bon Voyage.

I will be going with 2 other adults and also needed 2 bedrooms but with 3 beds. We ended up reserving an apartment from vacationinparis.com right on St. Germain by #117 Musee D%26#39;Orsee--haven%26#39;t been yet but I%26#39;ve been impressed with the location while planning the trip.

Not sure your budget. Try www.parisperfect.com. We are booked to stay in one of their apartments soon. They have been very organised so far. I have had two groups of friends that have stayed in their apartments recently and were very happy.

I happened to come across this site when I was looking for something completely different. I haven%26#39;t really done anything but take a quick glance at the larger of the two apartments but it certainly does look very nice. It is also very large by the standards of Paris rentals and has two bathrooms as well as two bedrooms. And it appears you would be dealing with a private owner in the US which you might prefer. That would make payments easier than having to deal with international currency transfers etc.
I have no idea if it is within your budget and I know nothing about the owner or the apartment except what is contained on the site.
Now if only they would ditch the infuriating music...

Hello Kansassun,
Say the area you are looking at near rue Mouffetard could be just great. It does have young people along the rue but IMO it is a great, great area and not just filled with students by any means.
Everything is convenient, the area is very colorful and most parts are very %26quot;French%26quot;. You will be just a short walk from several big attractions on the Left bank....(although maybe up a hill)......good bus and metro connections. Stayed in the area once for a while, found many good, reasonably priced restaurants, good shops, wonderful cafes..........anything we wanted.....safe and very interesting. Lots of people would love to stay in that area.
IMO take it, if it sounds like a nice apartment.

We had an apartment 2 weeks ago int that area. We were on Rue De Censier. There are many schools in the area and we did see some students coming and going. There is a hostel on Rue Mouffatard and we saw young folks around there. But all in all, it did not appear that the area was a big hang out sort of place. There are pubs and night spots on rue mouffatard so I would think staying on that street could get a bit noisy at night.
I was surprised at how hilly the area was. I have always thought Mont Martre was the hilly place in Paris. This area is not quite that hilly but it never failed that just when I thought I was going to have to lie down, we would come upon a hill.
We really enjoyed the area very much. The abundance of eating choices was amazing. We never ate any Gryos. We did eat some amazing Quiche and Fondu though. We had a very convenient metro station. We walked to the Jardin De Plantes, The Luxembourg Gardens, and the Pantheon. If you get hungry for American Food there is an American owned diner called Breakfast in America right at Rue Ecoles and Rue Monge. The St Germaine area is nearby too. Lots of interesting things to see and great shopping.
I would stay in this area again.
Our apartment was a studio with a bed and a sofa so it would probably not be good for you. We enjoyed it though.
