What parts will be closed in early June 0f 2007?

Took my two daughters to see the %26quot;Marie Antoinette%26quot; movie, and now they will want to see see the palace, gardens and Trianons. I need to know what (if any) will be closed in early June, prior to planning a visit.

The Petit Trianon will still be undergoing much needed restorations and will be closed, but aside from some other work on the grounds and palace that will do little but detract from the view, everything else should be open. VINCI has not given final word of late as to the completion date for the Hall of Mirrors. It is open, and part of it can be seen. The last formal update they gave was on 26 June when they announced the beginning of Phase II, so despite the fact that some dates have been reported for 2007, no official date is set.

My thoughts are that nothing will be closed to the point that should deter your from going. The palace itself is so costly to maintain that any visit is worthwhile, as it is an ever changing place. One visit you%26#39;ll see something freshly restored, while other parts seem to be deteriorating. On your next visit, what looked old the last time will be fresh and new, and what had just been restored will already begin to show signs of new wear and tear. The recent focus on the Hall of Mirrors, and the €12 million they%26#39;re spending to restore it, for instance, has taken a toll on other parts of the palace, which are badly in need of work due to the million or so feet that cross the floors each year. Sadly, their isn%26#39;t enough money to keep it all as it once was.

So....go, go, go. And don%26#39;t let one part of it being closed keep you away. Enjoy what is there, and be sure to take the separate guided tour of MA%26#39;s private apartments. You%26#39;ll be glad you did.

As a complement to what Arrowcapet rightly said, the newly restored hall of mirrors should be inaugurated in May 2007.

In June, you should be able to see parts of the reconstructed Grille Royale, grillwork closing the central courtyard that was melted down during the revolution.

Thank you. Taking 21 and 17 year old daughters. Having seen %26quot;Marie Antoinette%26quot; with them, I really hoped that we%26#39;d be able to visit the Petit Trianon.
