I%26#39;d like to have at least one crepe meal this May in Paris. I don%26#39;t know much about the savory crepe variations - the only crepe I%26#39;ve had is the, always wonderful, Nutella crepe. What%26#39;s your favorite?

I%26#39;ve had crepes all over Paris. My favorite place to buy crepes in at the stand outside of the St. Germain des Pres metro station - in front of the church - YUMMY!
My favorite types of crepes are Nutella for a snack, ham and cheese for a meal, and Grand Marnier for dessert.

I had Nutella with raspberry- which I got because I couldn%26#39;t picture what it would taste like- all I can say is WOW!

For lunch on a cold day. Provence with mushrooms, ham, egg and cheese (I had to ask for it like that, it would have 3 but not all 4 at the restaraunt I ate it at). Provence is like a marinara sauce with herbs. Good stuff. Soubise (Onion sauce) with ham and cheese. I had these in Bretagne, Lorient to be more specific so I%26#39;m not sure if either are available in Paris. I%26#39;ve never had a Crepe in Paris.

My favorite stand is the window one on rue Mufftard (the second window going down towards the market).
The man there makes the best ones I have had. He puts in a ton of Nutella for dessert .
For lunch I get the egg, guryer cheese and ham on a buckwheat crepe. This guy even uses real melted butter on the crepe before he puts all the goodies into it!
The one stand at the zoo ( 5 e) is not good very little in way of ingredients put on the crepe. I had several others but none compared with my favorite guy!
Nutella and raspberry sounds wonderful!!! Must try that here at home I make some mean crepes too.

As Brits on family holidays to Brittany, lunches were often galettes de sarrasin (filled savoury pancakes made with buckwheat) followed by crèpes de froment (filled dessert pancakes made with wheat flour), and I%26#39;m wondering if Parisian pancakes make the same distinction in name and flour?
Galettes were particularly good with an egg on top, as the runny yolk balances the dryness of the flour, and crèpes .... ? well, you have to try everything really! I do like Nutella, if it has cream on, but the bestest of all is crème de marron / chantilly - chestnut purée and cream :-D

%26quot;crème de marron / chantilly - chestnut purée and cream%26quot;
There are buckwheat flour crepes in Paris also. But the ones we had in Brittany seem so much better... I don%26#39;t know why....
I bought in a can and also in tubes the crème de marron /chestnut purée so I can make them at home . I think I paid about .75 euros for the tubes at the grocery store Champion at Bon Marche I paid about 1,50 Euros for the same tubes.

Discover,
I also love the chestnut purée one ! Very heavy but sooo good !
As for the savoury ones, I particularly enjoy the tomato-hot goat cheese- herbes de provence.
|||
I only tried crepes once in Paris - the Nutella with bananas - and I didn%26#39;t particularly like them. Much too Nutella-y for me. Next time I%26#39;ll try something with cheese.

%26quot;Annaparis%26quot; Thanks ...you have given me a new way to make the crepes at home!
I just made the crepe batter to make breakfast crepes of blueberry compote and sweeten cream cheese!

I had a ham %26amp; mushroom in a creamy sauce galette in Rouen.......delicious!
