My husband and I will be flying in and our of Paris in the beginning of April. We will be there for 10 days and are planning on getting a France rail pass and seeing 3-4 different cities. Besides Paris, what are some %26quot;must sees%26quot;. Anybody have any suggestions as to how long in each city? I would like to make the most of my time and do a lot of the train traveling at night, but I could definately use some input.

Hi squashpop — and welcome!
IMO France is not about cities so much as it is about regions and beautiful and immensely varied scenery. I assume this is your first visit to France, yes? If so, I would suggest you spend six of your ten days in Paris. I have spent literally hundreds of days there and still find new delights every time I return.
After that I would suggest you spend the other four days with a rental car exploring one of the many fascinating regions of France that have so much to offer — Burgundy, Normandy, the Loire valley, Provence, the Riviera — and there are several more. The first three are fairly close to Paris, the other areas a bit farther. The Riviera you can explore somewhat without a car, as you can the major towns of Provence — but you would miss quite a bit of the real beauty of both areas especially in Provence.
Get your hands on the DK Eyewitness guide to France and take a look at these regions and see which one has the most interest for you.
One thought that occurs to me is that early April would be a splendid time to visit Provence or the Riviera. These areas will be in full spring and (if you are lucky...) the weather will be mild and beautiful.
Incidentally if you have not already booked your flights you can fly non-stop from Nice to the US. But you can also get to either Nice or Avignon quickly and easily from Paris — and back again...
