transportation to Moulin Rouge

Hi! My husband and I will be staying at the Hotel du Theatre in the 17th from Dec 23-26th. I would like to book tickets for the 9pm show at the Moulin Rouge on Saturday the 23rd. My question is- is it worth it to buy one of those packages that picks you up and drops you off at your hotel, or will it be fairly easy and cost effective to find a cab after that show. I think it%26#39;s probably too far to walk all dressed up, right? Any other tips for my trip over Christmas are much appreciated too! We%26#39;ve been there once before and took a tour, so we%26#39;ve seen the major sights. Our plan is to just walk around, see what%26#39;s open and maybe spend some more time at the Louvre. Thanks for your help!

Bonjour Wardrr1,

The walk from your hotel to the Moulin Rouge is only 15 minutes, , so even %26quot;all dressed up%26quot; , for which there is no need for such a place, the distance is very walkable.

Bonne soirée.

I would second Lucky Luc about the dressing up factor: only tourists (and maybe arms dealers being entertained by their French providers) attend the Moulin Rouge show, so it%26#39;s not as if you were going to a première at Bayreuth! Dress casual, you%26#39;ll be fine. After the show, you can either take the métro for the two stations to your hotel, or walk there (less than a mile). Both options being absolutely safe.

Thanks so much, I hadn%26#39;t realized it was so close, it%26#39;s kinda hard to tell on some of the maps. We aren%26#39;t planning on formal dress or anything like that (just a skirt and sweater), but I am very much a jeans and T-shirt girl so even the low heels (my version of dressed up!) that I intend on wearing would probably be painful at the distance I was envisioning. I can handle a short walk. I%26#39;m really looking forward to the Moulin Rouge show. I know a lot of people don%26#39;t like it, but even if it turns out badly I think I%26#39;d regret not going. I really think it%26#39;s right up my alley though. At any rate- thanks again for your help, I think I%26#39;m ready to go now!

We also %26quot;dressed up%26quot; for the Moulin Rouge as we did for our London Shows. It%26#39;s part of the experience really. We caught taxis both ways, without a problem. The show was fabulous, not at all what we expected after lots of people tried to put us off going. We had a great time!
