1 day in Paris in December - any recommendations?!

I am taking my Mum (nearly 70) and sister in law (nearly 30!) to Paris on Saturday 9th December for pretty much just the afternoon. Would like to do something Christmassy and not too taxing for mum, just kind of special, soaking up atmosphere type of stuff.

Does anyone have any suggestions??

Go see the decorated windows in the big department stores (Galeries Lafayette, Au Printemps, Le Bon Marché). Have afternoon tea at Ladurée%26#39;s branch on the Champs-Elysée and look at the lights along that avenue. Then look at the lights on the Eiffel Tower at dusk.

If you have time before heading home, take a short cruise on the Seine to see all the illuminated buildings along the river.
