A Day Trip

Hi. I%26#39;m in Paris and would like to take a day trip outside the city...any recommendations? I was thinking Normandy but would want to go with some type of tour as I%26#39;m on the last leg of a long trip and don%26#39;t feel like planning and working out all the details on my own.

Thanks!

I wouldn%26#39;t go on any of the looooong day trips from Paris in winter. Most of these trips (e.g. Normandy, Mont St-Michel, the Loire châteaux) are 13 hours in length or thereabouts so you will spend much of the trip there and back in darkness, 3-4 hours each way.

Perhaps there are organized trips to Versailles you could take? Or Fontainebleau if you have already been to Versailles? Or even Chartres?

But really all these shorter trips — and there are many other possibilities — are easy to manage on your own. Why pay the huge premium?

These are two of the largest daytrip tour operators in Paris, with the broadest range of tours. Check out what they have on offer to see if any seem to suit your own personal preferences and interests--
